Story
Strauss's offer
At the camp, Strauss calls Arthur over: "Herr Morgan, Herr Morgan." Arthur answers: "Mr. Strauss." Strauss asks whether he is busy and offers to cut him in. Arthur is surprised: "Loaning? Already?" Strauss explains why he needs him: "You know how it is... people is happy to borrow off someone like me, but... more enthusiastic paying back to someone like you."
Three debtors
Arthur asks who owes money. Strauss names three people:
- Chick Matthews, who works at Guthrie Farm, a hand, Strauss believes;
- Mr. Wróbel, the smallholder at Painted Sky, who "runs the operations there... badly", in Strauss's words;
- Miss Lilly Millet, a ranch maid at Emerald Ranch.
Legal work
Arthur mocks the gang's leader: "And here was me believing Dutch's bluster about us helping folk." Strauss answers: "It's legal work, Mr. Morgan. Debtors belong in prison... we are doing them a favor." Arthur replies that he will make sure the debtors see it that way.
Strauss gives one last instruction: "Put the debts in the deed box and try not to kill them... it's very bad for business."
What follows
The three collections make up Money Lending and Other Sins II.

Trivia
- Strauss's own camp scenes do not play while this mission and its second part are available.
- Strauss calls Arthur "Herr Morgan" or "Mr. Morgan"; Arthur answers with "Mr. Strauss", and calls him "Herr Strauss" at other times.
- Thomas Downes, whom Strauss later sends Arthur to see, is the man who stopped Arthur's fight with Tommy in Americans at Rest. When Arthur comes to collect, Downes coughs blood on him; Arthur is later diagnosed with tuberculosis.
